Position Summary
Reporting directly to the SVP, Corporate Controller, this critical role will be responsible for overseeing the company’s revenue model, ensuring completeness and accuracy of revenue recognition, alignment with business goals, and providing actionable insights to drive growth. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader, problem-solver, and hands-on operator who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, particularly given the complexities of a dynamic reimbursement landscape and growing set of alternative revenue streams. This role requires a combination of onsite and hybrid work arrangements.

Key Responsibilities
• Revenue Cycle Management and Model Ownership: Oversee revenue accounting model, ensuring it is robust, scalable, and accurately reflects business operations, including pricing strategies, contracts, and revenue recognition policies. Ensure smooth collaboration between Accounting and RCM, Finance, and other stakeholders to streamline reporting requirements and minimize discrepancies.
• Revenue Recognition & Compliance: Ensure that all revenue recognition practices associated with the monthly, quarterly and annual accounting close comply with GAAP, ASC 606, and any other relevant standards, while maintaining effective internal controls in compliance with SOX. Communicate complex revenue matters clearly to executives, auditors, and cross-functional teams. Collaborate with accounting and finance teams, and external auditors to ensure that revenue is recognized appropriately across all revenue streams.
• Performance Analysis and Reporting: Provide concise, data-driven revenue analysis, highlighting key trends, variances, and opportunities for growth. Work closely with the Growth Finance team to analyze revenue metrics, KPIs, and customer-related data to identify areas for improvement.
• Strategic Insights and Business Partnering: Provide strategic insights on the revenue landscape, including competitive positioning, pricing strategy, revenue impact for new products, and market opportunities. Other examples include anticipating and addressing changes in insurance coverage, policy decisions and changes to internal billing operations that affect denial rates and overall reimbursement. Act as a trusted advisor to Commercial Sales, Marketing, and Product teams on how their activities impact the revenue model and financial outcomes.
• System and Process Optimization: Lead efforts to enhance the tools, systems, and streamline processes and controls used to track, report, and analyze revenue. This may include identifying opportunities for automation, upgrading technology platforms, or refining existing processes to increase accuracy, efficiency and compliance.
• Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team to create a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Promote a collaborative and results-orientated team environment.
What would make me qualified?
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; advanced degree a plus. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting in healthcare or genetic diagnostics industries, with at least 5 in a leadership role overseeing revenue cycle management, including working with billing, collections, and customer service teams.
• Strong technical knowledge of ASC 606, with the ability to present complex financial concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong understanding of financial systems and ERP tools (e.g., NetSuite) and billing systems.
• Proven track record of leveraging data analysis tools or other BI software to improve internal performance management and reporting.
• Strategic thinker, with the ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable insights.
• Demonstrated ability to champion change management and influence diverse groups of stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
• Exceptional leadership and proven track record of building and growing high-performing, engaged teams.
